Calling all people in the Davis area!
Do you need some help around your home or apartment?
Are you looking to feel a part of and give back to the Davis community?
You are invited to JOIN the Davis Community Time Bank!
Our culture teaches us to be independent and use money to get what we need. Time Banking is returning to the old traditions of giving and receiving that are essential within communities; back to times when tasks like raising a barn brought the whole town together, and trusting your neighbor was easy to do. Time banking is connecting people of a community together to enhance feelings of self-sufficiency and security.

What is Time Banking?
- Put some money in the bank!
Help someone in the Time Bank for 1 hour and you receive 1 Time Dollar.
- Now spend your money!
Spend your Time Dollar when you receive a service from someone else in the Time Bank, or donate your Time Dollars to others.
Time banking is spending an hour doing a service for someone else in your community to earn one Time Dollar. You can spend that Time Dollar to have another member of the Time Bank do something for you (or you can donate your Time Dollars to someone else). Time banking connects unmet needs with untapped resources. The circles of giving and receiving grow endlessly and deepen over time.
Every service is treated as equally valuable. Everyone has something to give! No matter the service, every hour is valued equally. On the Time Bank Community Weaver website, each members’ profile lists the services they would like to give and receive.
Every prospective member meets with a Coordinator personally or at an orientation session. The Coordinator verifies each member’s identity and takes precautions to maintain safety and trust among all Time Bank members. After meeting with a Coordinator, your new member account is activated and you can begin giving and receiving services.
Hour by hour, person by person, each helping act leads to another act of helping, and then another… reweaving communities full of caring, mutual support, and respect.
